Who we are

Literacy Volunteers of Niagara County (LVNC) teaches adults in Niagara County, New York to read, write, speak and comprehend English. LVNC is a county-wide organization dedicated to helping adults improve their lives through literacy. LVNC is an accredited literacy provider with current accreditation from ProLiteracy America.

A registered 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization, the focus of LVNC is free and confidential one-on-one tutoring for adults who read at less than a fifth grade level and teaching English as a second language to adults.

Our literacy services are provided by a dedicated corps of well-trained volunteers. Working with both basic literacy (BL) students and English as a second language (ESL) students, our volunteer tutors work one on one with students to help them reach their personal reading goal.
