Tutor Training Workshop

Learn to teach adults Basic Literacy & English for Speakers of Other Languages

Free training available to all Niagara County residents

Topics addressed will include:
  • Adult learning theory
  • Qualities of effective tutors
  • Lesson planning
  • Learning Styles
  • Cultural differences
  • Learner-centered instruction
  • Real-life materials and examples
  • Resource materials and activities

Basic literacy:

  • Reading techniques
  • Writing process

English for Speakers of Other Languages:

  • Conversational English techniques
  • Listening/speaking & reading/writing
    (No special knowledge or experience required.
    Tutoring is in English only).
